Formerly Elmhurst Maennerchor
The roots of our newly merged Elmhurst Chorus go as far back as 1894, when the original Elmhurst Maennerchor was founded – only to falter a few years later. Dedicated to keep the tradition alive, it was revived one more time in 1907, becoming the oldest social organization in Elmhurst. In 1936, under the guidance of Ludwig Lohmiller, the Elmhurst Ladies Chorus was born, soon being the largest women’s chorus in the area. While working side by side together all those years, in 2019 both choruses finally decided to unite. We are now the Elmhurst Harmonie … which is only fitting since ‘Harmonie’ has been our theme song for years. Besides our annual concerts with Laura Schmuldt as our director and Jenny Boso on the piano, we are performing at many area events and have a great schedule of music related and social activities throughout the year.
