Founded in 1946 the German American Singers of Chicago is a mixed chorus dedicated to preserving German heritage and culture and honoring our American home through song. Performances of classical works of the Great Masters, traditional German Volkslieder, American standards and pop favorites demonstrate the chorus’ versatility and diverse performance style.
True to their motto, “Let There Be Music,” the German-American Singers take great pride in being recognized as one of Chicago’s largest and finest ethnic choruses. The chorus has performed locally and internationally on concert stages, at religious and secular events, and private and public venues.
Under the direction of Glen Sorgatz, the chorus’ musical performances stir the hearts and souls of its listening audience, honoring our heritage and home.
